Kelvin Chun is an internationally recognized award winning educator, magician, balloon artist and kite enthusiast.

He currently was a Board of Director 7 years and served on committees for 20 years for the Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union.

As a teacher, consultant, lecturer and entertainer, Kelvin has spent over thirty years teaching and entertaining children, adults and educators, the topics of mathematics, technology, mathemagic and kites in the classroom.

As a technology coordinator and mathematics teacher, Kelvin integrated the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with the K-12 curriculum standards.

He has integrated the curriculum standards of mathematics, science, social studies, and performing arts; and woven his hobbies of technology, magic, kites and balloons, to design innovative technology, mathemagic and kite workshops.

Kelvin has taught elementary and secondary education from K through adult.

He shared his knowledge with students, educators, and entertainers at professional development workshops, courses, and conferences.

Kelvin has performed magic and balloons internationally for all ages. He has also competed against and performed with world class magicians in prestigious international magic competitions at venues such as Reno's Grand Sierra Resort 1,800-seat showroom, featuring the world's biggest stage.

Kelvin is best known for his educational technology background, mathematical teaching capabilities, Asian stage magic, inventive cartoon balloon sculptures and traditional Asian kites.

Kelvin Chun, a technology specialist at Nu'uanu Elementary School, has been named one of three Ed Tech Leaders of the Year by Technology & Learning magazine, a trade publication. His national prestigious awards include being recognized by the Disney American Teacher Award, the All USA Today 2000 First Teacher Team, the George Lucas Educational Foundation, and the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and the Society of American Magicians.

Kelvin has performed and presented at numerous conventions and conferences and provided staff development workshops and courses in the field of mathematics, magic, balloons, kites, and emerging technologies and their impact on learning at all ages.

He is a pioneer in helping educators create learning environments designed to support educational technology and adapt to the changes in curriculum, assessment, and professional development that will follow.

Kelvin's performances, hands-on workshops, and conference presentations, are known for being thoughtful, practical, and entertaining.

He has performed and spoken at prominent national and international conferences.

His focus on the dynamic real world applications of mathematics, magic, kite making, balloon artistry, modern technology and communication media, project-based learning, 21st century collaborative skills, and educational software has situated him to be a popular choice as a performer, keynote speaker and workshop leader for events, parties, meetings, conferences, conventions, schools, foundations, and governments.

He was a Board of Director 7 years and served on committees for 20 years for the Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union.

Chun, a member since 1995 in Ring 185 (Hawaii Magic Society), is currently the Hawaii Territorial Vice President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Kelvin was a 2005 International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) Gold Medal Finalist in the Stage Competition in Reno, Nevada, and a 2005, 2022 Society of American Magicians (SAM) Finalist in the Close-Up Competition in Boston.

Kelvin placed 1st in stage magic at the Texas Association of Magician's (TAOM) 2003 Convention, and also the Pacific Coast Association of Magician's (PCAM) 2000 Convention.

Kelvin placed 3rd in the Favorite Routine Contest at the 29th New Zealand International Magicians Convention in Auckland, New Zealand (2008).

He also placed 2nd in the PCAM 2003 Balloon Olympics and the PCAM 98' Children's Entertainer competition

He has been a guest performer and lecturer at numerous international conventions and events from around the world.
