Make History

Do you know your own family history? Take the time to learn the stories of the people in your family before it is too late. You can also record the oral histories of other people or about your community. These stories are all important and need to be captured and passed on to future generations.

This section is filled with tools to help you capture, document, and share the stories that illustrate the Nikkei experience.

For example, you can:

• Record personal histories by conducting interviews with people around you.

• Preserve documents, photographs, clothes, artworks, and other historic collections.

• Learn how even the simplest artifacts can reveal compelling stories.

• Share your family or community stories directly with a larger audience.

Whatever your ancestry, use these tools and techniques to preserve, interpret, and create history in your own way.
