Nikkei and Retirement: Smart Health Care Planning with Nadine Narita, RN
Saturday, July 7, 2012
1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

If you had a medical crisis such as a stroke or accident and could not speak for yourself, have you selected someone who can? Does he/she know exactly what you would want or not want? This is critical planning that only 25% of people have completed. Our speaker, Nadine Narita, RN, will discuss why it is important to think about future health needs, have the conversations with your loved ones, and what is needed to have in place before a medical emergency occurs.

Ms. Narita, a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse, is currently working as the San Francisco-Bay Area POLST (Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment) Liaison for the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California. Her specialty and passion is in end-of-life issues, and educating and promoting the need for advance care planning and quality of life. Her 30-plus years as a nurse includes experience in geriatric care, hospice management, pediatrics, labor and delivery, and women’s health.

This program is open to the public without charge.
