El 3 de abril se celebra el Día de la Amistad Peruano Japonesa.

Tradicional Semana Cultural del Japón que se realiza cada año, desde 1972, en el mes de noviembre.

Los primeros inmigrantes japoneses llegaron al Perú en 1899. Ellos trabajaron en haciendas agrícolas de la costa peruana.
