We served in ATIS, Letter Scanning Section. Transferred to Japanese Liaison Section, G-2, AFPAR.

I was chief clerk handling ducumentation between G-2 and CLO, Japanese government.

Living conditions

Conditions were fair. We stayed in a converted business building (Mitsubishi main building) with converted showers and washrooms. We used the existing toilets in the building. Meals were good--Army cooks.

Most vivid memory of military experience

We were mistaken for Filipino soldiers on arrival in Tokyo.

Missed most whilst in the military

I missed the comforts of home and home cooking.
