Joy Yamaguchi


Joy Yamaguchi (they/them) is the Director of Public Programs at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM). They also currently serve as the cabinet representative for JANM for Sustainable Little Tokyo (SLT). They have a B.A. in Ethnic Studies with a focus on Public Humanities from Brown University. Joy is also a member of Nikkei Progressives, an intergenerational grassroots organizing group based out of Little Tokyo. Throughout their work, they are dedicated to supporting marginalized communities in telling and reclaiming their own stories and histories.
