Introduction of Dana Heatherton, the emcee and moderator for the "PechaKucha Nite: Innovative Nikkei Projects" program presented by Discover Nikkei at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum of the Japanese American National Museum on August 31, 2010. The program featured six presentations by individuals who are working on projects that engage younger people in their community through culture and activism. The event was co-sponsored by the Museum and the newly formed Nikkei Youth Network based in Tokyo, Japan. In this clip, Darryl Mori, Vice President of the Museum, introduces Dana Fujiko Heatherton, the 2009 Nisei Week Queen. She then shares about her own connection to the local community. *Discover Nikkei is a project that provides opportunities to connect with others and share the Nikkei experience. It is a project of the Japanese American National Museum, made possible with major funding by The Nippon Foundation. The DiscoverNikkei.org website is the primary component of the project.
